Michael Meskal

Michael Meskal - Science Teacher and Consultant in California

Since 2014, Michael Meskal has served as a biology and chemistry teacher at Firebaugh High School in Lynwood, California. Michael Meskal was previously the owner and vice president of Ecotek, a firm that consulted with clients on environmental issues and managed desktop software.

While at Ecotek, Mr. Meskal played key roles in regulatory compliance, stormwater management, climate change initiatives, and staff development. He worked with numerous organizations on emissions assessments, waste reduction, hazardous materials handling, and indoor air quality. In addition, Mr. Meskal has made conference presentations and written about environmental concerns. His previous employment includes working as a research chemist at Diagnostic Products Corporation and as a molecular biologist at Long Beach Genetics Laboratories.

A member of the Air and Waste Management Association, Mr. Meskal earned an undergraduate degree in cellular and molecular biology at California State University, Northridge. After obtaining his science teaching credential, he obtained a master’s in educational administration from Concordia University in Irvine, California. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, football, and volleyball.
